18 November 2008 | Keys to discovering and fulfilling your purpose and destiny (2)

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favour and honour; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
Psalm 84:11, NIV

Notes

Walking in our destiny will involve sacrifice. How do we overcome the fear of getting started? Following God radically and wholeheartedly seems to be risky! We can know for years what our true destiny is, we can sense the call, yet we make excuses such as: ‘When the kids are grown. When the last one leaves home. When I retire - maybe then. But what about my finances? Who will pay my mortgage?’

God wants you to heed his call now, to show up for duty now.

Can we leave the provisions including time, money, opening up doors, favourable relationships and material resources to Him? If you do your part, be sure God will do His part. Trust God and take the first steps. The enemy hates it when we are unconditionally obedient and sacrificial. The enemy makes us think that it’s very scary, but actually it’s the safest thing we can ever do with our lives.

If you know God has called you to do something and you haven’t done it, repent and ask God to show you how to get started. Set goals today, devise plans and share ideas of how to make the vision a reality! Someone has said, ‘aim at heaven and you’ll get earth thrown in: aim at earth and you’ll get neither!’

Prayer

Dear Lord, help me to know Your will for my life. Help me to set my heart on things above, not on earthly things. In Jesus Name, Amen
