17 November 2008 | Keys to Discovering and Fulfilling your Purpose and Destiny (1)

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us…
Romans 12: 6, NIV

Notes

What are the keys to discovering and fulfilling your purpose and destiny? Firstly you need to believe that there is a purpose and destiny for your life! We’re called to walk together with God to build the Kingdom, to make disciples of all the nations. God’s on the throne, not Satan. The passage in Romans 12:4-8 tells us to discover our gifting and direction. Pray that God’s unshakeable call will be revealed to you, but don’t rush ahead of God. Don’t have an Ishmael, wait patiently for the Lord.

Secondly, you need to make lifestyle choices that enable God’s call to be fulfilled through you. ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God’, which means completely surrender all you have to totally focus on God’s Kingdom - with no distractions. Paul said, ‘This one thing I do…’ Don’t have too many aims and objectives. None of us have unlimited time. We’re all given the same amount of time. We must manage the time well. And we need to be able to hang in there when the going gets tough. Someone has called it the Omega anointing, the anointing to finish well, not just start out well.

Thirdly, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, especially in a crisis. And when you are doing well remember to thank God and give Him all the glory.

Finally, remember the objective of all our efforts should be to hear these words, ‘well done, good and faithful servant’, not ‘good and successful servant’! Our obedience now and our willingness to sacrifice now, will determine our reward in heaven.

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, please speak to me about my calling. I desire to follow You all my life. Thank you. In Jesus name, Amen
