Emerging Culture, the youth and young adult ministry of Share Jesus International, is calling all young Christians to hit Hastings this summer for a week of worship and innovative mission.

Catalyst is the eight-day mission training event from Emerging Culture packed with activities to move young Christians aged 13 and up beyond spectatorship faith and on to active discipleship.

Participants will be split into mission teams with experienced leaders and given a particular focus. Whether it be sport, the arts, social action, dance or music the goal is the same - to encourage the young disciples to use their God-given gifts to represent Jesus and communicate the Lord in action and word.

Each morning kicks off with a potent mix of band-led worship, prayer and training. And the teams are planning to leave no corner of Hastings untouched. In the afternoon the mission teams will hit the beach, the skate parks, the basketball courts and the estates to push the boundaries of innovative mission.

At the end the day, hearts will be filled with spiritually uplifting gigs, movie nights and youth events, before kipping down for the night old camp style on the floor of a church hall.

"Those involved in short term mission will find themselves dropped into some crazy situations," said Michael Volland, author of 'God on the Beach'.

"If you decide to go for it, you'll end up in places where the only option is to trust God. Sure, it's exciting, but it's much more than that, what you experience of God will shed a whole lot of new light on the journey of radical discipleship that Jesus has called us to follow Him on."

Catalyst costs just £50. For more information go to emergingculture.co.uk/catalyst
