Folks who are planning to get an Xbox One but haven't done so due to the cost tied up to it, well, Microsoft has announced another price off. The catch is that the price cut is only applicable to the United Kingdom where the Xbox One's price has now been slashed to £299.99.

The Xbox One debuted in November, 2013 with a retail price of £430. Through time, the Microsoft game console has applied incremental cuts but that included taking out some accessories such as the Kinect to make the lowered price possible.

The latest price cut was reportedly made at the request of retailers and covers the UK only. On whether these new price cuts would be made permanent is unknown hence consumers who want to get one may want to head on over to the nearest UK store and get their units.

The price drop in the UK market somehow positions it similar to current U.S. pricing which is $350. U.S. retailers announced a similar price drop last January. Just the same, these price drops should be consider special offers and are bound to end at any time. There was no specific period mentioned on when the special prices for the Xbox One game console would cover.

This comes on the verge of the coming new games on the Xbox One console such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Batman: Arkham Knight and some exclusives such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6 and Halo 5: Guardians.

A possible reason for the price cuts is Microsoft's intent to maintain it trend of outselling the Sony's Playstation sales, something they were able to do in 2014. Could Sony resort to a price cut as well soon?
