Microsoft has announced the Xbox Live Games with Gold lineup for the month of March. As players might expect, subscribers of the service are getting four games on the house.

Xbox One players can get a load of solving crimes, uncovering mysteries and honing their deduction skills in the adventure video game "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments" for the whole month of March.

Xbox Live Games with Gold subscribers with the new-gen console can also opt to stop the world from succumbing to a fearsome god's demonic forces in the action RPG "Lords of the Fallen," available from March 16 to April 15.

As usual, Xbox 360 players are getting two free games as well. But thanks to the Xbox One backwards compatibility program, Xbox One players will also get to download the same free Xbox 360 games.

The first Xbox 360 freebie (that is also Xbox One-ready) courtesy of the Xbox Live Games with Gold program is the "Supreme Commander 2," a real-time strategy video game that is all about skill, strategy and combat.

The title puts gamers in the midst of battles of humongous scales and players are to build all sorts of structures and contraptions to aid themselves in the warfare. It is available for download from March 1 to March 15.

Last but not the least, Xbox 360 players with Xbox Live Games with Gold subscription are getting "Borderlands," a game that is both a shooter and a role-playing title that puts players on the monster-filled terrains of Pandora. The title will be available for download in the second half of March.

As Xbox Live Games with Gold subscribers look forward to the March lineup, they ought not to forget that the February freebie "Styx: Master of Shadows" is still up for grabs until March 15 while "Hand of Fate" and "Gears of War 2" are free up to today only.
