Xbox Live Games with Gold 2016: May lineup shake-up this week; triple-A title tipped for June

The May lineup of the Xbox Live Games with Gold changes anew.

At least two games featured in last month's games list will return to their regular listed prices. "Sunset Overdrive" and "Grid 2" were taken off this month's Games with Gold list on May 16. This means that Xbox 360 and Xbox One players will not get a chance to add two more new games to their lineup, since Xbox 360 titles are now compatible with the current-gen console via the backwards compatibility program.

Two new additions will go live with the Games with Gold program and can be downloaded for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles. The Xbox 360 lineup will change with the addition of "Peggle," a puzzle classic from Electronic Arts. The new addition can also be downloaded for the Xbox One as a backwards-compatible game.

Meanwhile, Xbox One players can download "Costume Quest 2" starting on the latter half of the month, and the title will be available in the program until June 15.

Since the game list has changed for the May lineup of Xbox Live Games with Gold, some fans are already wondering what the list will look like next month. Microsoft is known to mix some triple-A titles from time to time, and seeing that there is no big-name classic in this month's lineup, some observers are hoping that the June playlist will have a triple-A title.

Predictions from fans include "Dead Rising 3," a classic 2013 survival, open world horror game; "Ryse: Son of Rome," a role-playing combat game; and a title from the "Bioshock" franchise, either the original "Bioshock" game or "Bioshock Infinite." The last two titles are certainly plausible, given that Microsoft has already confirmed that the "Bioshock" franchise will be added to the backwards-compatible games list for the Xbox One in the near future.
