WWE rumors 2015: Who will challenge John Cena for the U.S. title?

John Cena, as everyone knows by now, reclaimed his U.S. title from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) heavyweight champion Seth Rollins at WWE Night of Champions.

The mandatory rematch was made on WWE RAW the night after and Cena still came out on top. The match practically ended that storyline, with Rollins now busy on a different storyline with Kane, who ironically returned at the WWE pay-per-view.

With Rollins out, Cena is without a dance partner. So who could possibly be chosen to feud with Cena now and vie for the U.S. title?

There is word that the open challenge for the U.S. title could possibly be recalled and that such could take place on WWE RAW. Although that is one way to get a new storyline going, who could possibly step up to the plate and give the 15-time WWE heavyweight champion some tough competition?

There are no wrestlers right now being seriously tied up to the mix but chances are it will be someone who is not involved in any storyline. Whoever it may be will likely be Cena's opponent at the next WWE PPV, Hell in a Cell.

The safe bet is that it will be someone who is a heel or at least one who will make a turn. Either that or Cena will be the one to play heel.

There are many WWE stars who could possibly take on the challenge. The Big Show doesn't seem to have anyone to feud with, same with the Miz. And everyone knows how these two play the heel role to the latter.

Cesaro could be a deserving challenger, although he may likely end up feuding with Kevin Owen yet again for the Intercontinental Championship title. But wait, Ryback is bound to want a crack at the former NXT champion as well for unceremoniously losing the title at WWE Night of Champions.

How about Rusev? Well, that past storyline seems to be fresh in the minds of many. It is likely that he will continue to feud with Dolph Ziggler until that Lana (or is it now Summer Rae?) issue dies down.

With a long list of superstars down that list, who could possibly be Cena's next rival?
