A Polish city council has taken issue with beloved cartoon character Winnie the Pooh due to his "dubious sexuality" and lack of pants.

Some Tuszyn councilpersons are considering banning the A.A. Milne creation on the grounds that he is an "inappropriate" role model for children.

"Anyone who knows Winnie the Pooh knows he has no sex [genitalia]," one councilwoman said in a leaked video.

She also called questioned the mental state of Milne, an English author and playwright.

"Ladies and gentleman, I would like to tell you a little about the author," she began.

"When the author turned 60, he cut off his [Pooh's genitals] with a rusty razor blade because of his own identity issues."

Councilman Ryszard Cichy compared Pooh unfavorably to Polish animated character Mi ś Uszatek.

"Looking at both of these bears, one is completely dressed while the other is only dressed from the top up," Cichy pointed out.

"It is half-naked, which means it is completely inappropriate for children."

Although some councillors find Pooh Bear's attire offensive, many Tuszyn residents found no problem with the character.

"It is ridiculous that law officials are wasting their time on such issues," one woman told TTV.

Other residents expressed a similar sentiment.

"Winnie the Pooh was a bear with low intellect, and unfortunately, this is also evident in those who are concerned with this topic," a male resident said.

"I've even written a poem that represents this discussion — 'Winnie the Pooh is an alcoholic and a liar. He walks with no underwear and has cut off his [genitals]."

A Polish journalist sought an explanation from at least one councillor, but was told she was too "argumentative" and didn't "understand anything." Reportedly, the councillor shut the door in the journalist's face.
