Windows Phone 8.1 Emulators package available

Less than two weeks following the public release of the Windows Phone 8.1 OS, the Windows Phone 8.1 Update Emulators package has already made its entrance to the community of developers.

In an official post from Microsoft, the company announced the release of the update for its users. However, the company clarified that the update they recently launched was created for the developers. Nonetheless, eager Window Phone users may install and use the upgrades for free. However, the glitches they may experience will be at their own personal risks. According to Microsoft, the Windows Phone 8.1 Update Emulators may be downloaded by everyone through the company's App Studio Program.

"The Windows Phone 8.1 Update Emulators package adds additional emulator images to an existing installation of Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 or later. With this update installed, you can create and test apps that will run on devices that have Windows Phone 8.1 Update," Microsoft shared.

Some of the features included in the update include the introduction of folders for Windows Phone. Live Tiles and VPN Support are also incorporated in the upgrade. In addition, the Windows Phone 8.1 Update Emulators will offer the ability of the phone to select multiple SMS for the users to either forward to others or delete from their gadget. The package also takes pride in offering snooze settings for phone alarms that may be personalized depending on the preferences of the users. Moreover, the upgrade provides an advanced Xbox Music app.

However, some fans believe that the British Cortana and Chinese Cortana are the most remarkable additions to the Windows Phone 8.1 Update Emulators package.
