Who's your favourite green celeb?

Is there a famous personality who inspires you with their responsible lifestyles? Voting is now open for the International Green Awards' inaugural Best Green International Celebrity.

The 15 nominees include: Sir Paul McCartney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Helena Christensen, Sting, Don Cheadle and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

This award seeks to recognise 'responsible celebrities' who have positively influenced people by using their celebrity to promote environmental and sustainable development issues.

Organisers hope the new award will throw the spotlight on green issues and those who challenge conventional thinking on the climate agenda ahead of the COP 17 conference in Durban and next year's Rio Earth Summit.

The winner will be announced at a showcase sustainable gala dinner at the Natural History Museum in London on November 25.

The awards have been endorsed by the WWF.

Dax Lovegrove, Head of Business & Industry Relations, at WWF UK commented: “It’s important to celebrate initiatives that drive us towards a one planet future – a future in which the production and consumption of goods and services flourish within the Earth’s ecological limits.”
