Ubisoft has officially confirmed that the rumored "Watch Dogs 2" will launch sometime soon, and the new sequel will be one of the highlights at the upcoming E3 2016.

According to Lazy Gamer, Ubisoft sent an e-mail detailing the studio's E3 lineup and confirmed that "Watch Dogs 2" will be one of the showcases during the studio's presentation at the trade event. Meanwhile, the statement also revealed that aside from the sequel to the 2013 hit role-playing game, the Ubisoft presentation will showcase other upcoming big-name titles from the studio such as "For Honor," "South Park: The Fractured but Whole," and "Ghost Recon: Wildlands."

The confirmation is welcome news to fans who are already waiting for the sequel to drop. Prior to Ubisoft's reveal, info has been circulating about "Watch Dogs 2." Hints and teasers have also been bandied about, from the game's supposed main character to when Ubisoft plans to release the sequel.

Meanwhile, although Ubisoft has already laid out its plans for the E3, the studio still has something up its sleeves. TechRadar believes that the studio has a surprise in store for its fans, as hinted at by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. Reportedly, apart from its confirmed lineup, the E3  will end with the studio's revelation of a new IP, and the project is also expected to be a triple-A franchise game.

Fans are expecting the "Watch Dogs 2" presentation to be the main showcase of Ubisoft. It is already expected, given the success of the original, "Watch Dogs" sold more than 9 million copies when it launched. In addition, it is expected that Ubisoft will be focusing on "Watch Dogs 2" as its main triple-A project for the year since the studio has also revealed that the game will take the place of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, which is a no-show this year.
