Quarterback Kirk Cousins has led the Redskins to the verge of winning the NFC East title this season. However, there are still two weeks remaining of the regular season, and there is still work to do.

They must go on the road today against an Eagles team that will feel they have underperformed this season. However, Philadelphia still have an outside chance of winning the title. But it will have to start with a win here today against the table topping Redskins.

If the Redskins can claim the win today they will wrap up just their second NFC East title in the past 16 seasons. That will complete an unlikely turnaround; after they started the season 2-4, not many would have predicted that Washington would go on to win the division and snap up a postseason spot.

During those opening six games, Cousins threw for just 236.7 yards per game for six touchdowns and a worrying eight interceptions.

However, there was a big turning point in late October. With none of the NFC East teams seemingly wanting to take hold of the top spot, the Redskins started their rally by overturning a 24 point deficit to claim an astonishing 31-30 win at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cousins shouted his now famous rallying cry for the first time after that performance: "You like that? You like that?"

The Redskins have gone on to win five of their last eight games, and Cousins has been a central reason for that, throwing for an average of 275.6 yards per game for 16 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

He has gone from strength to strength, and last week against the Buffalo Bills he completed 22 of 28 passes for 319 yards and four touchdowns as the Redskins won 35-25.

Cousins now leads the NFL with a 69.7 completion percentage, and has set a Washington franchise record with 336 completions.

He will want to put on another top performance today to get the Redskins over the line in the NFC East, and if he does so it will be a third straight win for Washington, which would be their first such run since back in 2012.

For the Eagles meanwhile, they will have to win their last two games to stand a chance of claiming the NFC East title and going through to the postseason. A loss today would eliminate them from the Playoff picture, and would mean this is the fourth season out of the last five where Philadelphia have missed out on the Playoffs.

Linebacker Connor Barwin has said ahead of the game: "The playoffs start on Saturday. We have to put (the Arizona game) behind us."
