Celebrated Christian artist Twila Paris recently embarked on "A Voice for the Voiceless" tour with the acclaimed World Vision Korean Children's Choir.

The group of classically trained kids ranging in age from nine to 14 captured the audience with their bright native costumes and their songs of faith in the native Korean language.

"It was really neat to see the response to the kids," Paris said.

"These kids are extremely disciplined in their music. They are all classically trained."

The ensemble, dressed in colourful costumes, performs Korean folk songs and Christian standards that cross cultural and language barriers.

"It's very engaging in terms of music, but also literally. You can tell they've spent hundreds of hours rehearsing. It's the real deal," Paris gushed.

Paris, a veteran performer who has sold millions of albums and scored several Dove Awards shared: "Just coming off of rehearsals and that one night, this is even better than I thought it would be."

"I wasn't prepared for how amazing these kids are."

On July 29 at Portland's Oregon Korean Mission Church, Paris and the choir stopped by one of three Korean churches, as part of their tour.

"One night we'll be in America and these kids will be staring out at an audience that can't understand them. And the next night, all of a sudden we're in Korea and I will be the one staring out at an audience that doesn't understand me," said Paris.

Last Friday, Paris performed from her extensive catalogue of Christian and worship songs, alone and with the children's choir.

"A Voice for the Voiceless" tour wraps up in Texas, 20 August.
