As far as British parents are concerned, they want their kids to stay far away from Miley Cyrus and closer to the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

In a study conducted by vouchercloud.com, 2,287 British parents—all of whom have at least one child under the age of 10—were asked: "Are there any celebrities you would hate for your children to idolise?"

They were provided with a list of celebrities, the Daily Mail UK reported. More than three-quarters (78 percent) of the respondents replied that under no circumstances would they want their children to be exposed to the wacky, provocative antics of skin-baring Miley Cyrus.

More than half said that rapper Nicki Minaj was a potentially negative influence as well, while Kim Kardashian followed with 43 percent, with "Twilight" actress Kristen Stewart at 36 percent, and Rihanna, 34 percent.

On the other hand, rapper Kanye West was deemed as the most negative male influence with 56 percent of the votes, followed closely by Canadian pop artist Justin Bieber with 55 percent. Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik took in 41 percent, "Transformers" star got 38 percent, while reality star Joey Essex had 25 percent.

When asked why these public figures were deemed as negative role models, the most common response they gave was: "I don't want my child to end up going off the rails."

British moms and dads were also pretty outspoken, too, with regards to positive role models. The Duchess of Cambridge is someone they looked up to because of her charitable works and impeccable fashion taste, and she is someone they want their kids to emulate.

She is followed closely by British actress and model Michelle Keegan who got a positive 32 percent vote, while "Shake It Off" songstress Taylor Swift had 27 percent.

Also included in the positive list were Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton, comedian James Corden, and surprisingly, One Direction star Harry Styles.
