HBO seems to be keeping everything tightly under wraps about the production of "True Detective" season 2. However, fans only become more ardent when details and fun bits about their favorite show are kept underground. According to the latest round of rumors, the production of the much-loved crime drama series is making headway with an all-new cast gracing the show.

Ecumenical News reported that the actors were photographed on location, marking their participation on the series. For one, Just Jared and a rabble of paparazzi spotted Taylor Kitsch playing with a football on the set of "True Detective" during a break from the shooting. There are also other snaps that show the 33-year old actor and co-star Vince Vaughn enjoying a good laugh, which suggest that the duo may be working as partners in the new season. In the middle of the fuzz, there is one snap that shows Rachel McAdams, who is also said to be part of the new season.

According to Den of Geek, the second season will begin with the murder of a corrupt city manager during a transportation deal. The site went on to say that things will only go far stranger after that when various government agencies discover satanic symbols on the victim's chest.

"True Detective" creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto comes back to pen the new season. However, new directors will show up on the set. "Fast and Furious" director Justin Lin will reportedly helm two episodes. William Friedkin will then continue the directing duties in the remaining six episodes. As for season 1 director Cary Fukunaga, the former director will switch to being the executive producer of the series.

According to True Detective Rumors, a trailer should be close by now. The same site surmised that "True Detective" will return with season 2 by summer.
