The number seven symbolizes perfection, and for "True Blood" fans, this seventh season may be the perfect series ending.

A recently released teaser for the HBO season finale is full of action, emotion, and suspense, as vampires and humans fight in a small Louisiana town. Using her telepathy, Sookie sees a violent encounter.

"There was an attack at the church tonight," she says in the trailer, recounting her vision.

"They're saying it was the sick vampires... that they came out of the dark... another ambush."

The trailer then shows the forsaken town begging for help. There is a prayer written on the side of a church building, and a scrawled message to FEMA on the concrete.

"How can this be happening? In this country, in this day and age," Sookie laments, "that our country would leave us for dead?"

The humans of the town are shown arming themselves with guns and passing out ammunition.

"Now the good folks of this town are turning on each other, acting like animals. Why'd they do such a thing?"

After successive shots of "True Blood" stars, Sookie says "There's no one left."

Her final words may allude to the death of one or more of the characters, in what is sure to be a gripping final season. It could also mean that the humans of the town have all turned. The infected vampires have closed in on Bon Temps, and the vampires are still shaken from the loss of Eric.

Last season, fans suggested that Eric Northman may not really be dead, and showrunner Brian Buckner confirmed that the fans were right. However, Wet Paint suggests that Eric may return in season seven in a mutated form. We will have to see if the mutation returns his pre-memory loss personality, which was more ruthless, or if his feelings for Sookie have changed.

If the trailer is any indications, fans are in for an entertaining final season.
