The "Transformers" franchise has suffered numerous departures. Becoming more and more immune to the trend, it is not a surprise if another person (or persons) turns away from the robot tracks anytime.

Michael Bay, the creative force who sat on the director's chair for four successful "Transformers" films, will embark on a new journey — and it will not be another "Transformers" film.

Bay made director magic for the mega-action films with his no-dull, just-dynamic scenes (surely, the next director has big shoes to fill).  But at 49, the director plans to try out new things, leaving the tremendous task of exploring the "Transformers" universe to another, Breathecast reported.

"They're hard movies to do and it takes every day for two years. They're fun, but they're hard," Bay explained.  "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."

Also, Mark Walhberg will not be waging another war as Cade Yeager, the mechanic turned superhero in the most recent installment, "Transformers: Age of Extinction." Walhberg steps out of the "Transformers" world simply because he is more of a one-shot film actor who does not do sequels.

But of course, while goodbyes are everywhere, a hello may soon follow.

Fashion & Style stated in a recent report that Megan Fox, who starred as Mikaela Banes in the film that started it all ("Transformers" in 2007), is rumored to return. Although possibilities of her homecoming are slim, Fox is open to a kick-ass comeback which she plans to do with none other than her co-star in the film, Shia Labeouf.

She has been quoted as saying, "I'm not sure if I'll return. As long as things are good between everyone and Shia returns with me I'd like to see us partner up with the new cast like a crossover."

Fox has been busy with "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and will be reprising her role as April O'Neal in the film's sequel soon. So if the actress is bound to be part of the new installment of "Transformers," then production might have to be pushed further.

Regarding the storyline, IB Times, via Fashion & Style, suggests that the new film may opt for Beast Wars, with Predacons and Maximals soon to be on the rise. But then again, many things are still unknown. It is still unclear as to who will get the torch from Bay. A plot line for the new film has not been formally announced, and a release date is still far away. But if everything gets settled anytime soon, "Transformers 5" will perhaps be slated for release in two more years time.
