"Titanfall 2," while overshadowed with all the hype from "Battlefield 1" and "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," will be released by EA during the fourth quarter of 2016.

Of course, while an exact release date is still not revealed, "Battlefield 1" will be launched on Oct. 21, 2016 for the Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4, so it could be possible that "Titanfall 2" will be released a few weeks before or after it. However, it's expected to be officially announced at E3 this coming June.

It might not seem prudent of the company to release two big titles in the same period of time, even more so due to the fact that both games, besides being shooters, put emphasis on the multiplayer environment. However, in an earnings call shared by Seeking Alpha, EA CEO Andrew Wilson was able to shed light on the possible mistiming of these games. He stated that both of these shooter games have a broad scope packed with a larger set of players, which in turn caters to different gameplay motivations.

He said, "Some people play very quick play, some people more strategic play, and some people want both in different context. The result is we feel like we actually have a really strong position to deliver the broadest set of gameplay mechanics as it relates to first-person shooter genre across the two titles, and feel very confident that we are well-positioned to do very well in that category this year."

About a month ago, the first trailer for "Titanfall 2" was released. However, compared to the attention "Battlefield 1" got when its trailer was released, it can be said that this game is less anticipated. Still, it still has had a sizable fan-base ever since it was first released on the Xbox One, so it could still be possible that the game will be well received at least.
