"The Witcher 3" players eagerly anticipating the arrival of the newest expansion may have to wait a bit.

Recently, a fan on Twitter posed a question to the game's official account asking about specific details pertaining to the "Blood and Wine" expansion.

In response, the handler of "The Witcher 3's" official Twitter account revealed that they would be providing more details about the upcoming expansion in the "coming months."

Prior to the exchange, it was widely known that the "Blood and Wine" expansion would be released sometime within the first half of the year, and now, it appears that the actual launch will be taking place closer to the tail end of that window as opposed to a potentially earlier than expected debut.

Going by the words used by the game's official Twitter account, the new expansion may not be released until around April and it could even be launched later than that.

Hopefully for "The Witcher 3" players, the wait, for how long it may last, will still be worth it.

According to Segment Next, the upcoming "Blood and Wine" expansion is set to add around 20 more hours of gameplay for players to enjoy, meaning it is expected to be quite a sizable content drop.

The new expansion is also expected to be more than just empty calories, as it is set to introduce additional elements that should further deepen "The Witcher 3" experience.

According to Design and Trend, the upcoming expansion is set to introduce a new region into the game that will be known as Toussaint. The new region will be filled with more enemies for players to deal with along with additional quests they will need to complete.

The "Blood and Wine" expansion is also set to introduce a new antagonist that promises to be a fitting foe for Geralt.

More news about "The Witcher 3" will be made available soon.
