'The Sims 4' 'Dine Out' expansion releases on June 7; Console version a long way off

EA/Maxis

PC gamers are enjoying "The Sims 4," especially now that the new "Dine Out" game pack is set to arrive in the first week of June. However, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 fans are still waiting for their version of the latest life-simulation game. It is rumored that the ported version may arrive next year.

Video game console fans of the "The Sims" are not used to wait this long for ported versions to arrive. It normally takes close to a year after s PC version is released, but it has been more than a year and a half, and "The Sims 4" it is still nowhere in sight.  No update is coming from EA either.

According to NeuroGadget, Maxis, The Sims Studio and game publisher Electronic Arts are focusing much of their resources on the PC version of the game. Roughly a week from now, "The Sims 4" players will be able to let their Sims experience dining out at some fancy restaurant. Additionally, players will also be able to create their very own diner, complete with the players' desired name and ambiance, which will come via the "Dine Out" game pack.

The Sims community blog said in the game pack announcement, "Your Sims can do more than just visit restaurants in The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack. If they're feeling a little more ambitious, potential restaurateurs and foodies can customize their own restaurant."

It was previously rumored that the ported version of "The Sims 4" was having some technical issues, and EA doesn't want to release a half-baked product, thus, they are still polishing the game.

There are also speculations that the studio and publisher want to complete the "The Sims 4" package first for the PC before releasing the ported version, which is said to be a part of a business strategy.
