GameNGuide previously reported that a poster depicting a pregnant woman wearing a gas mask with the caption "The Last of Us – American Daughters" was seen in the last game release of developer Naughty Dog. This was an implicit confirmation that a game sequel will arrive soon and fans were actually expecting a surprise reveal from the company during the E3 2016 last month, but nothing came up.

Even if the game sequel has actually been confirmed by the developers themselves, this does not mean that the game will arrive soon. Many fans have even accepted the fact that it won't make it before 2017 ends, but are expecting it to be ready by 2018, Yibada reported.
