"The Incredibles 2" is still in development but is currently on track to hit its 2019 release date. By the time the film releases in theaters, it will be a total of 15 years since the first film came out.

It was previously expected that the second film would be set roughly the same amount of time after the first film but this may no longer be the case.

According to a report from Fashion and Style, the second film will instead be set only six years after "The Incredibles." This would make the two kids from the first film, Violet and Dash, still young. Violet at this point will most likely be in college while Dash will now be in high school.

The real draw to this rumor, however, is Jack-Jack, the youngest of the siblings. Jack-Jack was a baby back in the first film, and if only six years has passed he will only be roughly six or seven in "The Incredibles 2." This may play a part in the rumored plotline involving him and Syndrome.

One of the most widely spread rumors is that Syndrome managed to survive the events of the first film and is now back for revenge. He will do so by seducing Jack-Jack to become his partner and may even train Jack-Jack to control his powers so that the two of them can rebel against Jack-Jack's family.

Frozone is also set to return and it is rumored that he may have a larger role in "The Incredibles 2" compared to the first film. It is hinted that he may be the deciding factor in bringing Jack-Jack back to his family.

However, it is important to note that none of these rumors have been confirmed by Disney and Pixar, which means they are still considered speculations and may be subject to change.

"The Incredibles 2" will open in theaters on June 21, 2019.
