"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" will show Katniss Everdeen in a very difficult situation.

Director Francis Lawrence dished out in his interview with Entertainment Weekly that Katniss will go through a lot and deal with a lot of things in the upcoming sequel of the hit movie adaption of Suzanne Collin's dystopian Hunger Games trilogy.

In the next film, Katniss is caught in between her two love interests, Peeta and Gale. Peeta is being held captive in the Capitol, while Gale is with Katniss in District 13 acting as commander of the rebels. Katniss wishes to save Peeta as she feels guilty that it is her fault that the latter was captured by President Snow.

At the same time, Katniss is having a very difficult time being the face of the rebellion. Katniss served as the source of strength that fuels the rebellion and raised their morale, which puts her in a difficult situation.

Director Francis Lawrence confirmed that the film's protagonist Katniss Everdeen will be distraught and disoriented. He also said that the love triangle between Peeta, Katniss and Gale will still be at play. However, it will be harder this time because of Peeta's situation.

"It's a very confusing, conflicted, complicated time for Katniss. Having gone through the games one more time and having lost Peeta and having been run through the wringer, she's even more damaged. So you find her in a more agitated place. She's distraught, confused, angry," Lawrence told the publication.

The director also revealed that the film will add some scenes that are not featured in the book. "Instead of changing the plot and changing characters, what we did was have the opportunity to show scenes that could have been happening at different times in the book," he said.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" will be released on Nov. 21, 2014 and the second part will hit the theaters a year after on Nov. 20, 2015.
