"One day, they'll remember - remember everything that happened. The good, the bad, those who survived and those that did not."

That was what Bilbo Baggins said during his opening line in the latest trailer for the upcoming film, "The Hobbit 3: The Battle of the Five Armies." It was posted in the movie's official Facebook page, together with the announcement of its official release date.

The movie is said to be the final installment of Peter Jackson's widely-acclaimed trilogy.

It was initially scheduled for release in July 2014, but the production decided to move it to December 17.

Based on a post found on the film's official Facebook page, the film will showcase an epic finale to the journey of the company of dwarves under the leadership of Thorin Oakenshield and Baggins. The dwarves managed to reclaim their lost land from the gigantic dragon Smaug, but they did not expect to set a much deadlier entity free into the world.

The rage-fueled dragon wreaked havoc toward the area where the men, women, and children of Lake-town were located. These people were not equipped to protect themselves from the enormous dragon.

Reportedly, the cast of the highly-anticipated film includes several familiar names, including Richard Armitage who plays Thorin Oakenshield, Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, Lee Pace as Thranduil, as well as Sir Ian McKellen who will reprise his role as Gandalf.

In one of his latest interviews, Bloom told the movie's avid fans that they could expect to see a huge chunk of the story focused on the father-son relationship between his character Legolas and Pace's Thranduil.

The Hobbit movie franchise is based on the trilogy written by J.R.R. Tolkien back in 1937. The first two movies earned a total of $2 billion at the global box office when they were released in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
