'The Flash' season 3 release date: will we see the Mirror Master next season?

Barry Allen's life will ultimately change in the third season of "The Flash," according to actor Carlos Valdes.

In a panel presentation at the MegaCon 2016 in late April, the actor, who portrays the role of Barry's close friend Cisco in the series, revealed that the repercussion of Barry's decision to edit history by going back in time to stop his mother's death will have a big effect on the present situations.

"I think I can say this without a doubt: wherever we go from here, it's going to be unique and it's going to be different and it's going to honor the original chronology and the original lore while at the same time, writing a new spin on it," Valdes said during the panel presentation, as reported by ComicBook.

Aside from Barry's upcoming personal quest to save his mother, Valdes also shared his idea of a perfect villain for The Flash next season. According to the actor, it would be interesting to see the former hitman turned supervillain known as Mirror Master in the upcoming season of "The Flash."

Based on the character description, Mirror Master does not possess any supernatural abilities and powers, but his excellent gun skills made him one of the most popular marksmen in the entire DC Comics Universe. Could this character find his way to the show next season?

Meanwhile, the series is also reportedly looking to cast another character for the upcoming season. According to TVLine, the network will look for a new recurring cast member who will have an effect on Barry's life.

The CW is reportedly looking for "recurring character of Barry's slightly older, slightly geekier contemporary, a guy who is as smart as he is intuitive." The network also revealed that Barry will find the new character too good to be true. "As such, this newcomer doesn't buy Barry's nice guy routine and sets out to learn what he's hiding — all while concealing some secrets of his own."

"The Flash" season 3 is scheduled to premiere on The CW beginning Tuesday, Oct. 4.
