Barry (Grant Gustin) will learn an alarming news about the mysterious Professor Zoom (Tony Todd) in the upcoming episode of The CW series "The Flash."

In episode 5 titled "The Darkness and the Light," Comicbook reports that the revelation will be exposed while Barry is battling a meta-human named Dr. Light. The newest breacher from Earth 2 has slipped through the portal and Barry is worried what she may do. Jay (Teddy Sears) will tell the speedster that Dr. Light is not a threat and that he can talk to her, but it turns out he is wrong.

The two inevitably engage in a fight, where Dr. Light blinds Barry. She also let slip a shocking detail about his archenemy, Professor Zoom. Viewers have so far only glimpsed blurred shots of the villain as he travelled from one dimension to the next to kill Barry. What secret will Dr. Light share about Zoom?

The official synopsis for episode 5 also reveals that Barry will ask Patty (Shantel VanSanten) out on a date. After flirting with the agent from Central City Police Department, the speedster finally will have the courage to take the leap. Where will this new development lead the main protagonist to?

Meanwhile, the promo released by The CW shows Barry and the S.T.A.R Labs team talking to Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanaugh). Movie Pilot reports that the scientist has returned to help The Flash defeat Zoom. Wells can be heard telling Barry that the villain has already infected his world and he will be coming to his. He also reveals that he is the one who created The Flash's biggest nemesis. Will Wells really help Barry stop Zoom?

The team certainly looks unsure of what to make out of this turn of events. Wells is the reason why Barry is an orphan, when he killed his parents. He is also the one responsible for the trauma that Barry has to battle with this season. Can the superhero let bygones be bygones and trust the scientist?

"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
