The choices we make today shape the people we become tomorrow, says Victoria Osteen

Victoria Osteen, wife of popular evangelist Joel Osteen, is asking people about their priorities. "Have you heard someone say, 'Oh, I just don't have the time for that?'" she said in her blog post entitled "What Are You Tending To?"

Victoria said this is just an excuse people make for themselves, and the truth is, people will always make time for the things that are important to them.

"What they are really saying is, 'That isn't a priority for me,'" she said. "When we tend to the areas of life that are important to us, when we make those things a priority, that's when we will flourish in those areas."

Victoria shared a personal example. She and Joel have a plant in their backyard. Whenever she tends to it, it grows, but the opposite happens when she doesn't. "Life works the same way," she explained.

Victoria does not believe in the saying "the grass is greener on the other side," since the truth is, the grass is greener where people tend to it.

"Remember, the choices we make today shape the people we become tomorrow," she stressed. "If you just can't seem to get ahead, you might need to check your priorities. If you've had difficulties setting your priorities, ask God to help you."

According to Victoria, God can help His people invest in their time wisely. For those who want a strong family and a peaceful home, she suggested that they make family their priority and not give them "leftover time." For those who want to shed a few pounds, they better invest in health and not waste time lying around and checking social media sites.

"You have to make time and tend to things that are important in your life so you can live the life of blessing God has promised you!" she said.
