The next generation all-electric four-door sedan from Tesla — the Tesla Model 3 — is perhaps one of the most anticipated vehicles in automotive history.

The brand new compact luxury sedan will hail a new generation of electric cars that is now within financial reach for a lot of buyers. Now, new reports have revealed the vehicle's production date and its potential production location, which indicates that consumers in Asia might be the first ones to get their hands on the vehicle when it is released.

The Tesla Model 3 was previously revealed to be priced at around $35,000 for the base model, with the price likely going down after government incentives are applied. The Model 3 is also expected to deliver a range of at least 215 miles on a single charge.

Ever since its announcement, there are now more than 400,000 pre-release orders for the vehicle itself. Majority of the pre-orders are from North American buyers, with Chinese buyers trailing in second place.

Given that fact, most consumers believed that the vehicle was going to be released in North America first, which will be followed by a release in other territories shortly after. However, new reports have revealed that it might not be the case as the production of the new model might be moved to China next year.

According to reports, Tesla is apparently planning to move its production of the Model 3 to China to expedite its completion. If the production will indeed be moved there, then it is possible that the first batches of the vehicle will be shipped first to Asian regions.

Tesla has also apparently confirmed that it will start the production of the vehicles on July 2017. This would mean that those who had pre-ordered the Model 3 would likely be getting their hands on the vehicle by the end of 2017. Some reports are, however, skeptical of the late 2017 release date and have instead pegged the release of the vehicle to be sometime in early 2018.
