"Switched At Birth" fans can now mark their calendars as ABC Family finally revealed the date of the show's return: the teen family drama will kick off on Aug. 24. Series creator Lizzy Weiss also took time to inform fans on Twitter about the news.

The drama series, which will pick up from where the season 4 midseason finale left off, will show Bay's heartaches and troubles. Fans last saw her ruminating on and reeling from the assault and the tribulations it brought her. Season 4 episode 10 also left Bay heartbroken after she and Emmett called it quits.

Apart from continuing with the painful dealings of the newly-graduated protagonist, the season 4 midseason premiere will also bring into play an "unexpected pregnancy." For now, there is no way of knowing which of the girls will be having a baby soon.

Daphne, who went off to med school after Bay took the rap for her "bad behavior," will be seen struggling to juggle her life as a college student and as a girlfriend. It is hard to imagine how nuts it would be if the show added a bundle of joy into the picture.

It would also be interesting to see if Bay is the one who would have a baby and what decisions she would make if such an unforeseen responsibility is hurtled toward her. It also raises the question of how the Kennishes would deal with the pregnancy news and what they would do about it.

It remains to be seen how this bombshell pans out but if Weiss says it will be "awesome," there is reason to believe that the highly-anticipated return of the show will indeed be awesome.

"Switched At Birth" season 4 will be back with "To Repel Ghosts" on Aug. 24.
