The Winchester brothers will face their most powerful enemy yet in the "Supernatural" season 11 premiere. The season opener titled "Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire" pits the hunters against what the synopsis describes as the "biggest threat" they ever came across.

Last season, when Dean was successfully freed from the Mark of Cain, the Darkness was released, easily swallowing up everything in its path. Now, the brothers must team up with unlikely individuals in order to prevent the new foe from taking over the planet.

It is still unclear which of the people from the brothers' past will be enlisted to lend a hand, but what's clear is that they are going to need all the help they can get knowing that the Darkness predates basically everything .

Castiel doesn't look like he is in top form to assist as he is still under Rowena's spell when "Supernatural" season 11 premieres.

Darkness will take the form of Amara, who is described as an extraterrestrial that detests Earth. Emily Swallow was cast to play the role but it doesn't look like she will appear in the "Supernatural" season 11 premiere just yet.

A sneak peek for the premiere episode shows the Darkness leaving total carnage. Dean and Sam rush to the scene where the victims lie lifeless and bloody. As they check for anything that will lead them to the culprit, a man attempts to shoot the brothers, but a police officer shoots him before he could.

The same police officer asked Dean and Sam to "show some skin," which confused the two. It looks like she witnessed how these people all died with her gun pointed toward the two and her voice trembling as she asks for proof that they are not "one of them," which confuses them even more.

"Supernatural" season 11 premieres today at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can also watch via the CW app.
