At the San Diego Comic Con, the cast of "Supergirl" gave their much awaited interview with Yahoo TV. The panel consisted of Jeremy Jordan, Tyler Hoechlin, David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Melissa Benoist, and Mehcad Brooks. They revealed their reactions upon learning that the show would return for a second season.

Breathecast reports that Mehcad Brooks, who essays the role of Jimmy Olsen, cried like a baby when he was told that Season 2 was actually going to happen. Meanwhile, Chyler Leigh, who portrays Kara's sister Alex, acted out her reaction on learning that the show was being renewed.

As for what the upcoming season has in store for fans, the bounty is tempting. Firstly, Superman will be making his debut on the series this season. The superhero will be brought to life on the small screen by Tyler Hoechlin, who's famous for his role as Derek Hale in "Teen Wolf." Sarah Schechter, executive producer of "Supergirl," revealed at the convention, "I think that Clark has a very different experience of what it means to have superpowers on Earth. He was raised with them, he has certain values so there's some real head-butting and philosophical approaches that are different and we'll get into all that."

This will probably lead to conflicts between Superman and Supergirl, but in the end, they'll learn to work in tandem, as rumours suggest. The upcoming season may also feature crossover episodes involving 'Arrow' and 'The Flash.' Comic Book reveals that Arrow's producer Wendy Mericle teased fans with the possibility of a mega-crossover episode that would span out into a four-day week-long event.

The cast members in Supergirl's season 2 are supposedly yet to begin filming, according to Christian Times. But, according to other reports, the season is all set to air on The CW in the month of October, 2017.
