Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoit) could still see her superficial boss Cat Grant in "Supergirl" season 2, after Calista Flockhart has been confirmed to return to the series in a recurring role.

A report from Deadline revealed that the former "Ally McBeal" star agreed to reprise her role as the CatCo Worldwide Media founder and CEO in the second season of "Supergirl." Her status on the show was initially compromised after the production for the new season was moved to Vancouver, Canada from Los Angeles after the series was transferred from CBS to The CW.

Since Flockhart is only willing to take acting jobs as long as the filming location is set around Los Angeles so she can easily go home to her family, the move to Vancouver will not work for her. But the showrunners and the actress managed to make a compromise where she agreed to fly to the new set location every few weeks, and she could shoot as many scenes as she can in a given schedule.

"Supergirl wouldn't be Supergirl without the amazing Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. "We are so excited Calista has agreed to continue on the show when she can. We and the audience love to see her on screen."

The report also said that actress will also receive the same paycheck that she was getting when she was still a series regular despite her new recurring status.

Meanwhile, set photos reveal that Katie McGrath is already working on the set of "Supergirl" season 2 to play Lena Luthor, the younger sister of Superman's mortal enemy, Lex Luthor.

Lena is described as the new CEO of their family's billion-dollar tech firm. She reportedly arrived in National City in order to have a fresh start after her brother was put in captivity. However, it was not yet revealed if Lena will become Kara's friend, or another one of her enemies.

"Supergirl" season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 10.
