'Super Smash Bros. 4' DLC update: Four new characters added

"Super Smash Bros. 4" is now adding four new characters to its roster.

The four new characters added to the game come from four different franchises, giving fans more variety to choose from.

First off is none other than Ryu from "Street Fighter." Ryu is one of the most iconic characters in any fighting game and his omission from the game initially could be argued as quite an oversight. Despite what may be an uneccessarily delayed debut, players will now be given the opportunity to feature Ryu and his classic array of moves to fend off foes in "Super Smash Bros. 4," according to Venture Capital Post.

Following Ryu is another well-known character in Mewtwo. Mewtwo is probably best known for being the villainous Pokémon in the first movie from the franchise, and now fans will get the chance to use this powerful creature to defeat enemies in "Super Smash Bros. 4."

Next on the list of new characters is Lucas from "Mother 3." The "Mother" franchise has grown into a cult hit over the years, making the inclusion of Lucas not at all surprising.

Last up is Roy from "Fire Emblem." Even though Roy may be the least known of the new additions, his skills with the sword could make him quite a popular character very quickly.

More characters could still be coming to "Super Smash Bros. 4," though no announcement has been made thus far. If the game is going to add some new characters, iDigital Times suggests that the Fighter Ballot for the game could provide Nintendo with some very good ideas.

If the Fighter Ballot does factor into the selection process, then characters such as Bomberman and Rayman could be part of "Super Smash Bros. 4" in the future.

In related news, update 1.0.9 has been released for "Super Smash Bros. 4." The update has not added any new gameplay elements, even though it is designed to enhance the gameplay experience.
