Nintendo keeps fans of "Super Smash Bros. 4" always on their toes with new updates and expansions for the brawler title. Although the company did not directly come out and say it, fans are now waiting for at least three new characters and stages to be released for the game.

When Nintendo recently updated "Super Smash Bros. 4," Nintendo Everything reported that some fans found out that part of the update's source codes includes at least three empty character slots.

Meanwhile, industry follower Event Hubs mentioned that aside from the empty character slots, there were also new stages that would be unlocked for the title. Apparently, six files with "tikibuzz" labels pointed out to these new stages. However, instead of there being six new stages, there would only be three, and these three new stages will come with both normal and omega versions.

Although the source codes are from the latest "Super Smash Bros. 4" update itself, fans were cautioned against hoping as these were not confirmed details but only guesses from hardcore fans.

"Super Smash Bros. 4" is a fighter brawler game that includes most Nintendo-exclusive characters and some non-company figures as part of the fighter roster. It is not surprising that character DLC is huge news for the game. As early as this time, although Nintendo has not come out and confirmed anything, fans are already guessing which characters would make it as the latest DLC.

The prevalent speculations say the Shovel Knight as the next DLC character. This rumor started with a listing of the Shovel Knight amiibo as "Super Smash"-compatible. However, "Shovel Knight" creator Yacht Games dismissed the idea, and said that the amiibo listing was only an error.

Other rumored characters include Wolf and Isaac, as well as the Inkling from another Nintendo smash hit, "Splatoon."
