"Suits" season 5 ended on a surprising note, with Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) taking the fall by admitting his crime and going to jail instead of letting Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and the whole firm go down for him. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Aaron Korsh revealed that season 6 will pick up immediately after Mike gets locked up.

According to Korsh, season 6 won't feature any sort of time jump and that the premiere episode will pick up just moments following the season 5 finale. As a matter of fact, Korsh also explained that the whole premiere episode will cover events spread across just 24 hours.

"We're coming back right where we left off.," Korsh stated in the report. "We're coming back to the very night that we ended the episode on. The entire episode as is currently contemplated takes place with Mike's first night in prison and the first night back at the firm when they've come back and it's empty."

Korsh stated that they did contemplate on featuring a time jump and then revealing events via flashbacks but then countered this by asking what the point was if they were going to reveal the key events anyway, choosing instead to go with a linear progression.

It was also confirmed that Mike will be spending a significant amount of time in prison but it won't be long enough for him to get a real law degree. Instead, Korsh explained that the main focus will be about Mike surviving and going through several major plot twists, although he did not reveal what kind of twists and turns will happen.

Not everything will be about Mike, however, as the interview continued to reveal that the firm itself will be facing jeopardy. Without Mike, the remaining five core members will be facing the issue of re-grouping or if they will now go their separate ways.

"Suits" season 6 will premiere this summer.
