Controversial British comedian Stephen Fry is at it again. And the latest victim of his sharp tongue is none other than God himself.

Known for his quick wit and opinionated commentaries, the popular host, actor, narrator, book author and Emmy winner is now lashing out at God in his no holds barred interview with RTÉ One's faith-based series entitled "The Meaning of Life" hosted by Gay Byrne.

In a clip of his interview posted on YouTube, Fry dismissed the idea of the entering the Gates of Heaven because he believes God to be "an utter maniac."

"Because the god that created this universe, if it was created by God, is quite clearly a maniac...utter maniac, totally selfish. Totally. We have to spend our life on our knees thanking him? What kind of god would do that? Yes, the world is very splendid, but it also has in it insect whose whole life cycle is to burrow into the eyes of children and make them blind. They eat outwards from the eyes. Why?"

'Bone cancer in children? What's that about'? How dare you. How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault. It's not right. It's utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world that is so full of injustice and pain?' That's what I would say," he told Byrne when he was asked what he would tell God if he had the chance to meet him at the Gates of Heaven.

"It's perfectly apparent that he is monstrous, utterly monstrous, and deserves no respect whatsoever," he continued.

A self-confessed atheist, Fry has said that his lack of belief in a God has made his life simpler, purer and cleaner because he could not understand the injustice that He has allowed against mankind.

This was not the first time Fry spoke out about issues as he actively campaigns for gay rights, curing cancer and dementia. 

Fry, who enjoys popularity on social media, has 8.6 million Twitter followers. Since the video's posting on January 28th, it has been viewed over 3.5 million times and liked 32,735 times. While more people continue to approve of Fry's comments, close to 2,000 viewers of the clip have disliked the post.
