|PIC1|This week another milestone was reached with the completion of a new roof for Carmichael, the accommodation block that houses students and the team of volunteers based at Horsleys Green.

“A new roof means that our students will stay warm and dry this winter. We will also be able to refurbish three rooms which were previously unusable,” said Francine Gifford, Director of Centre Services.

“The next stage is a complete refurbishment of the existing student bedrooms, including new windows and replacing worn out furnishings.”

The new look of the Wycliffe Centre started with a brand new accommodation block, dining area and coffee lounge for conference guests. Now work is starting on the student accommodation, to ensure Wycliffe can continue to train another generation of field workers.

“Wycliffe has a vision to see a Bible translation project begun in every language that needs it by the year 2025,” says Eddie Arthur, Executive Director.

“Even working with partners around the world, this will require an increase in the number of people from the UK and overseas being trained to work cross-culturally.

"Wycliffe UK would like to continue to offer training to see this vision fulfilled, which means providing facilities for students from around the world for another 15 years at the very least.”
