Legendary music composer John Williams will be coming back in the next following weeks to begin working on the musical score for "Star Wars: Episode 8." The composer made the announcement himself in front of a live crowd after he conducted a half-hour performance of "Star Wars" music at the Tanglewood Music Center.

As reported by Mass Live, Williams will be working on the soundtrack after watching an early cut of the film, directed by Rian Johnson and produced by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams. Williams also stated that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy herself had approached and invited him back, an offer he accepted.

Williams continued to explain that his main reason for returning was because he was "enchanted" by the performance of Daisy Ridley as Rey and that he didn't want any other composer to work on scoring her scenes in the film.

As stated by a report from Collider, Williams' work on "Rey's Theme," the official soundtrack for the character, has been hailed as one of the best musical pieces for "The Force Awakens" and is also one of the most highly recognizable tracks in the entire franchise.

Games Radar also points out that fans are quite thankful of Williams agreeing to return. The composer had done the score for all seven "Star Wars" films thus far and it would be a jarring departure if he would not work on the soundtrack for the remaining two films.

However, Williams is not the only composer who has worked in the franchise as there have been other contributors who have done the score for "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and the new "Star Wars Rebels" series.

"Star Wars: Episode 8" will continue the tale of Rey, Finn (John Boyega), Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and their allies as they lead the Resistance against the evil First Order. The film will launch in theaters on Dec. 15 2017.
