Star Wars Episode 7/VII title, casting rumors: A New Dawn; JJ Abrams wants to keep production close to home

It seems Star Wars fans just can't get enough of the next installment and the all important details of what it will be called and who will be starring.

The latest rumor doing the rounds is the potential title for Episode 7 - A New Dawn.

That rumor has swept the net after TalkBacker quoted two unnamed sources, although the second source made clear it was only one of "many potential titles".

Another source told TalkBacker that the Millennium Falcon would be making a "big appearance", with a 1.1 scale size cross section being built at Pinewood studios, as well as a power plant set and the Cantina Bar from Mos Eisley.

Benedict Cumberbatch has said he will not be joining the cast amid intense speculation that the Into Darkness star was being considered for a role.

"No offer has been made.  That is that.  And that is that!" he said.

Although he did say he would "love" to work with Episode 7 director JJ Abrhams again.

LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed in May that production for Star wars Episode 7 would be happening in the UK but Abrams has been blunt about his reluctance to work on the film that side of the Atlantic.

In June, he suggested his kids weren't too happy about the prospect either.

Given that he has filmed all his previous movies in his home state of Los Angeles, their annoyance is understandable.

Abrams said: "When you're 13 and 14, it's like, f*** that, I don't care what the movie is."

Now Hollywood Reporter is quoting an insider as saying that a green room, sound studios and other facilities are being added to Bad Robot's Santa Monica facility.

That means Abrams can limit the amount of time he is spending away from home for the post-production phase, although with Disney and LucasFilm pretty set on doing at least some of the production in the UK, he won't get avoid it completely.

Previous episodes of the Star Wars saga have been produced in studios at Pinewood, Elstree, Shepperton, Leavesden and Ealing.

In terms of who's going to be starring, no one has been confirmed yet but there are plenty of names doing the rounds, from Cumberbatch, to fellow Brits Rachel Hurd-Wood and Alex Pettyfer, and American heart throbs Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron.

Star Wars originals Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are expected to return as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
