Sony Xperia Z4 and Z4 Ultra release date in January? Launch to bring Sony's powerful combo

It wasn't too long ago when Sony released the Xperia Z3, but reports are circulating that the company is already planning to scare its rivals by introducing two powerful smartphones very early next year. Sony will reportedly unveil the Xperia Z4 smartphone and its phablet Xperia Z4 Ultra at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015, to be held in January.

The Japanese electronics manufacturer has been an active participant in electronics trade shows and uses them as platforms for releasing new products. In next year's event, the company is expected to unveil the Sony Xperia Z4, which is rumored to have a 5.4-inch qHD Triluminos display. Some reports say that the device will be powered by the current Snapdragon 805 chipset, while others say that it will be one of the first smartphones to have the 810 processor from Qualcomm. Other features rumored to be included in the handset are: Adreno 420, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 20.7 MP rear shooter with 4K recording and 3.2 MP front-facing shooter, and a 3300 mAh battery.

Also, the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra is speculated to make an appearance at the event.  The device is predicted to come with a 5.9-inch qHD Triluminos display, Snapdragon 805 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and 16 MP rear camera. The phablet might also feature a thin profile that can go head-to-head with Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge.

While the Japanese brand has a current market share of around two percent, reports are claiming that it will reduce the number of smartphones it announces every year and will instead try to attract more consumers by updating its smartphone artillery to battle other handsets in the market.

However, these should be taken with a grain of salt as the Japanese OEM manufacturer has not commented on the aforementioned rumors yet.
