There is a possibility that the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 will have a limited supply as the company will reportedly lay off some of its workers. According to Reuters citing Nikkei Business Daily, Sony will cut off 1,000 jobs in its mobile arm in March.

The job cuts will be in Europe and China bases of the company. This is not the first time that the company let go of some workers as it already dismissed workers last October. The report added that the workforce will be reduced by 30 percent or 5,000 employees by March. The dismissal of some of the employees was a concurrent effect of Xperia Z3's low sales.

Despite rave reviews from critics, Sony Xperia Z smartphones are still unpopular with consumers unlike products from Apple and Samsung dominating the market. This intensify the previous rumors claimed that Sony is planning to sell off its mobile arm due to low sales. With less workers to work on the new Sony smartphone, it suggests that the company is planning to release fewer units of the Xperia Z4.

Meanwhile, rumors claimed that the Sony Xperia Z4 will be released in different variants of different sizes, including Xperia Z4 Compact, Xperia Z4 Ultra, Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra, and Xperia Z4 Music.

Some of the aforementioned models may pack screen panels ranging from 4.7 inches to 6 inches with either quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) or full HD (1,920 x 1,080) pixel resolutions. Other rumored features of the Sony's flagship smartphone are the latest Snapdragon 810 SoC, Adreno 420 co-processor, 4 GB of RAM, 24 megapixel back camera with dual LED flash and 12 megapixel front facing camera. The smartphone will run with the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Sony Xperia Z4 release was purported to be in March at the Mobile World Congress, although some reports stated that the company is taking its time in making the smartphone and will reportedly launch the handset in the summer.
