Considered to be the highest-rated FX series, the "Sons of Anarchy" show was able to get more positive reviews compared to other hit TV shows like "The Shield" and the like. Regardless, with the network already out of episodes to air for the main story, it was only logical for them to instead produce a prequel for their most popular series.

According to Game N Guide, while there is nothing to stop the show from happening, the details first revealed for the show seemed to be suggestive of a huge difference from the original show's style. For one, the cast that will be tapped into the series will include new faces. Furthermore, some rumors actually point to Charlie Hunnam not being able to return as the main character anymore.

This rumor was actually confirmed by Hunnam himself since he thinks that the prequel, while definitely happening sometime soon, may not include him in the cast. The reason behind the announcement is very simple. Since the events of the prequel happened way before the original series, Hunnam's character — Jackson Teller, aka Jax — will not have been born in that time.

Furthermore, according to Vine Report the prequel is set on the 60's, and as such, the person who will be the focus of the prequel is Jax's father, John. There will be eight more easy riders alongside him, and all of them are Vietnam War heroes, thus the prequel's title "The First 9."

Also, a rumored fragment of the script says that Jax's father will be in his mid-20s on the prequel's timeline, and he will be shown riding his bike into the horizon.

Regardless, everything is yet to be confirmed, and as such fans should just wait for more updates about the release date of the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel.
