Seattle Seahawks vs Detroit Lions live stream (ESPN TV): Watch NFL Monday Night Football 2015 online (Game preview)

The Seattle Seahawks will play the Detroit Lions on NFL Monday Night Football tonight and coming up to a quarter way through the NFL 2015 regular season these two teams have just one win to their names combined. Not many would have predicted that before the season started, but now today's game is already almost a must-win game for both if they want to keep their Playoff hopes alive. Today's game has a scheduled start time of 8.30 p.m. ET and takes place from CenturyLink Field in Seattle Washington. The game can be watched on TV on the ESPN network or online through live stream via the link below.

The Seahawks will want to build on their first win of the season last week, and if they can claim a second straight victory tonight they would move to .500 on 2-2 and their prospects would look hugely better than they did just a few weeks ago when they had fallen to 0-2.

The Seahawks were forced to start their season with two road games, and when they returned to CenturyLink Field at the end of Week 2 they were standing on the edge of the abyss, under threat of falling to 0-3, a state that rarely teams recover from to make the postseason. In fact only three teams in the last 25 seasons have fought back from a 0-3 start to the season to make the Playoffs.

So when the Seahawks lined up against the Chicago Bears last week they knew it is do or die time, and thankfully for Seattle fans they succeeded, and more than that they did so in an overwhelmingly comprehensive manner, taking down the Bears 26-0.

That win has helped to erase some of the memories of their two opening losses; in Week 1 an overtime 31-34 loss to the St Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome, and in Week 2 a comprehensive 17-27 smackdown from the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football.

Last week's excellent win over the Bears means they should be confident of claiming a second win today against the as-yet winless Lions.

Detroit have been massively disappointing through the opening three weeks of the season, and they now face the very likely prospect of going the entire opening quarter of the season without tasting victory still.

In Week 1 they were defeated on the road by the San Diego Chargers following a second half where they threw away a 21-10 lead to lose 28-33.

In Week 2 another road game saw them fall again, this time 16-26 to a re-surging Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings.

Like the Seahawks, the Lions had to wait until Week 3 before playing in front of their home fans, but unlike the Seahawks there was to be no silver-lining to their return home, as Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos took apart the Detroit defense, while exposing some big frailties with the Lions offense to send the Lions to a third straight defeat 12-24.

Now the Lions must go on the road again against a revived Seattle Seahawks team at the intimidating CenturyLink Field, and it would take a brave man to wager that the Seahawks won't gain their second win of the season tonight and prolong the suffering of the Detroit Lions players and fans.
