Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs Galaxy S5 specs and features comparison: Which is the better flagship phone?

After Apple Inc. decided to come out with bigger phones this year and rolled out the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus last week, Samsung now needs to make a counterattack in order to gain the lead in the growing "phablet" market.

With its flagship phone Galaxy S5 released back in April, the South Korean brand once again revealed last Sept. 3 that they have another flagship phone, the Galaxy Note 4, scheduled for release before the end of 2014.

Take a look at the comparison between the two Samsung flagship phones:

The 5.1-inch smartphone weighs 145 grams. It comes with a Super AMOLED capacitative touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 display that is protected by a Touchwiz Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen.

Its internal memory capacity ranges from 16 GB to 32 GB plus 2 GB RAM, and can be expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card. The phone is powered by a Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery.

Users of Galaxy S5 enjoy taking pictures with its 16 MP primary camera with phase-detection autofocus and LED flash, as well as its 2 MP dual video call secondary camera. It also has a dual-video recording capacity at 2160@30fps.

It will run using the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. This smartphone will be sold with a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal capacity, but it is also expandable up to 64 GB. Unlike the Galaxy S5, the Note 4 will have a 3,220 mAh battery.

Though both have the same 16 MP primary camera with LED flash and autofocus and similar video recording capacities, the Note 4 will include additional features such as optical image stabilization. On the other hand, the secondary camera takes clearer images at 3.7 MP.
