Samsung's Galaxy S7 is no stranger to the rumor mill by now, and this time around, reports are suggesting that the phone's cameras may be equipped with new technology.

The new technology in question is known as Britecell and it could reportedly change smartphone photography for the better.

Britecell technology will reportedly provide some very useful features to the cameras of the Galaxy S7, according to Value Walk.

First off, Britecell is said to be particularly useful in situations wherein little lighting is available. Thanks to the technology, the phone will reportedly be more capable of producing images that are clearer and with fewer examples of distortion permeating it. 

Britecell will also allegedly be helpful in terms of providing enhanced color quality in the images it helps produce. 

Aside from its direct impact on image quality, having Britecell tech inside a phone such as the Galaxy S7 could also help make it easier for the manufacturer to come up with a smaller frame if so desired, although the reduction in size is supposedly not that significant.

It's believed that Britecell technology will first be made available in the Galaxy S7 and then be present in the other phones that the company produces moving forward.

In related news, rumors have also suggested that the Galaxy S7 will be bringing back an old feature found in older Samsung flagships.

According to Forbes, it's likely that the Galaxy S7 will once again feature the same microSD support that people missed in the most recent batch of flagship units from the company.

Samsung is reportedly bringing back microSD support in part because of the negative reaction the company received with regards to its absence in recently released units.

There's no official word yet when it comes to the official launch date of the Galaxy S7, although rumors have suggested that the new phone could be released as early as February of next year.
