South Korean giant Samsung Electronics is preparing to unveil its new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus handset earlier than previously expected. According to reports, a document claiming that Samsung has begun testing its new Galaxy S7 smartphone with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 processor was recently leaked.

Techno Buffalo reports that the document was leaked by known technology tipster using the name KJuma via Chinese social media site Weibo. There are also expectations that new Samsung Galaxy S7 will run on Google's latest Android mobile operating system (OS).

Techno Buffalo adds that the Snapdragon 820 processor will come with a 64-bit architecture along with a Hydra CPU and an A350 graphics processing unit.

Previously, the South Korean giant decided to use its own Exynos processor for its recently released Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices, which turned out to be a wise decision for many. This time, it's possible that Samsung is planning to use a Qualcomm processor once again.

In addition, it was revealed earlier this month that Samsung is planning to make its Galaxy S7 smartphone foldable. According to Australia Network News, the Galaxy S7 could be the first ever device capable of folding.

Since the Samsung Galaxy S7 is still in its early stages of development, nothing is for sure yet and who knows, Samsung might go for another processor instead.

Other news include Samsung's plan to start providing consumers with security updates for Android devices every month. It was recently made known that the company is going to join forces with LG and Google on the new approach.

Also, Samsung, along with Apple Inc., has been in talks with global carriers to develop a new electronic subscriber identity module (e-SIM) standard that will eliminate the need for traditional SIM cards. This move could be implemented by 2016, according to earlier reports.
