Both Samsung's and HTC's flagship offerings were nowhere to be found at the CES 2015, but during the Mobile World Congress that is going to be held in Barcelona in March, both companies are expected to showcase their highly anticipated flagships — the Galaxy S6 from Samsung and the One M9 from HTC.

Due to the decline in Samsung's financial performance in 2014, the company reportedly decided to place its upcoming device under "Project Zero" and will be given a whole new makeover in terms of design. HTC, meanwhile, is attempting to repeat history — the company was able to rebound its revenue generation with its One M8 smartphone, after being nearly crippled due to several abysmal financial quarters.

Both devices  will allegedly possess a display rendering 1440 pixel resolution with the same screen size. Samsung is allegedly looking toward incorporating a high degree of innovation to its Galaxy S6 with a variant sporting two curved edged displays, compared to the single curved edge that was present on its own Galaxy Edge.

As for the hardware specifications of both devices, it has been rumored that Samsung will be dropping Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset in favor of its own Exynos flagship chipset, while HTC will have Qualcomm's 64-bit capable processor assimilated to its One M9. While it has not been confirmed, the Galaxy S6 is rumored to sport 4 GB of RAM, while the One M9 will be equipped with 3 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to come with a 20-megapixel sensor while HTC's growing affinity to UltraPixels is well known and will be looking to continue the trend on its flagship offerings.

Samsung's UI has always been criticized from the beginning but the company is said to be planning to use a much more refined TouchWiz interface, and it is expected that the upcoming interface will provide a near "pure Android" experience to users.

While these are the most widespread rumors when it comes to hardware specifications, accurate information will be presented when both devices are showcased at the event.
