Samsung Galaxy S6 specs rumors: Leaked photos show metal chassis

Samsung Galaxy S5

The upcoming successor of the Samsung Galaxy S5 will reportedly come out this year, but the South Korean company is not yet ready to bring the soon-to-be released Samsung Galaxy S6 to the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show currently happening in Las Vegas.

Contrary to the rumors that were spread over the past months, the Galaxy S6 will not make an appearance during the annual international exhibit of consumer and electronic products. However, it does not mean that gadget watchers and Samsung fans will not have new information about the much-anticipated flagship smartphone.

A French website called nowhereelse.fr leaked new images showing an all-metal casing for the alleged Samsung Galaxy S6 device. The website claims that the metal chassis is meant for the next-generation Samsung Galaxy S line. This could mean that the mobile manufacturer from Seoul is choosing to don its new products in metal cases, unlike its earlier releases which were encased in plastic. However, there are no means to confirm the validity of this claim, and Samsung is still mum about the new leak.

Other rumors surrounding the upcoming smartphone say that the device will include several improvements based from the current Galaxy S5 specs. It includes a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution, a whopping 3 GB RAM, a variation of Exynos 7420 or Snapdragon 801 chipset, as well as an impressive 20-megapixel primary rear camera. The device is also expected to be equipped with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop version once it comes out.

Even though it is already confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will not come out during the CES 2015, some reports are saying that a selected group of suppliers will get a sneak peek of the future flagship smartphone line from South Korea.

The reports are still unverified, but Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S6 in the first half of 2015.
