Speculation about a possible Galaxy S6 Mini coming from Samsung has been building recently, and now the rumors are suggesting that the new phone could be coming sooner rather than later.

According to the Digital Spy UK, Galaxy S6 Mini, or also known as the Samsung SM-W2016, has just recently passed the tests handed out by the benchmarking platform known as GFXBench, and this is being seen as a possible indicator that the new phone may be on its way.

Unfortunately, that's about all that is known about just how close the new Mini phone is to actually coming out, as Samsung has been silent on the matter.

According to Android Pit, Samsung has developed a habit of releasing the Mini versions of their Galaxy S units a few months after the standard units come out, and that was previously seen as the possible plan for the S6 Mini. That may not be the case anymore, since Samsung would have released the S6 Mini around August or September if they still had designs of following that same pattern; that opportunity has passed.

Instead, the company may be planning on moving the release date for the Galaxy S6 Mini a bit further back, with rumors suggesting they are more likely to launch it next year than to try to rush it just to get it out before the end of 2015.

Upon being released, the Galaxy S6 Mini is expected to feature a hexa-core Snapdragon processor, although there have also been rumors suggesting it could feature the Exynos 7420 processor.

It will provide a 4.6-inch display, although it is also expected to feature a primary shooter that could provide either 15 or 16 megapixels. It is also expected to feature a five megapixel front facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini could also end up with 3 GB of RAM as well as 64 GB of internal storage.
