Galaxy S5 vs Huawei Honor 6 specs comparison: Similar features, different prices

It seems like Chinese mobile manufacturing brand Huawei is capable of creating new devices that can be compared side-by-side with the leading smartphone brands.

Last August, the Chinese brand came up with an affordable new device called Huawei Honor 6 packed with high-end features that can also be pitted against more expensive devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Here is a detailed comparison between the more cost-efficient Huawei Honor 6 from China and South Korea's Samsung Galaxy S5:

Internal Memory and Specs

Huawei Honor 6 is powered with a HiSilicon Kirin 920 chipset with quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and Mali-T628 MP4 GPU.

Samsung Galaxy S5, on the other hand, is equipped with Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset and quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.

Both handsets run with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, and have 16 GB and 32 GB internal memory options. However, the Honor 6 has a 3 GB RAM while Galaxy S5 only has a 2 GB RAM. The two devices also have microSD slots for expansion, but the Honor 6 can only be expanded up to 64 GB while Samsung's flagship phone can be expanded up to 128 GB.

Camera

Huawei Honor 6 features decent camera features, with a 13-megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus functions. The Galaxy S5, however, has a clearer 16-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and phase detection autofocus functions. Yet the front-facing secondary camera of Honor 6 is better compared to the more expensive phone, since it has 5 megapixels while Samsung's device only has 2 megapixels.
